If you are exercising while fasted, many recommend to supplement with BCAAs (branched chain amino acids).  

I do not recommend using supplements as they are not regulated by the FDA, however, I want to educate you as to why many people use these while fasting.

Many believe BCAA consumption will prevent your body from using protein found in muscle.  Remember-- this would only happen with very intense training.  Steady state cardio or basic lifting during fasting will not cause you to lose muscle mass.
