Easy, Healthier Flatbread Recipe: Nom Nom Naan!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love pizza.  I don't even know if love is a strong enough word.  I could absolutely eat it every. single. day.

I know I'm not the only one who enjoys the cheesy, saucy, carby goodness!  When we are trying to be healthy though, it's not the best food option.  Sure, we know this, but the cravings don't just go away! #thestruggleisreal

To eliminate the weekly pizza delivery order, I decided to make a healthier option at home.  It is super simple and delicious!  

Easy Flatbread Recipe:  Nom Nom Naan!

1. The Crust

As the crust, I use pre-made naan found in the bakery section of my grocery store.  You could also use whole wheat tortillas, or sometimes I use pita bread.  But the naan is the perfect size and thickness!  My store carries several flavors, including whole wheat.



2. The Sauce

I like my pizza saucy.  I usually buy a jar of marinara sauce (organic or natural ingredients), but you could make your own using crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and herbs.  I prefer to save time and use the pre-made sauce! 

3. Toppings and Cheese

Toppings are all up to you!  My favorite topping combo is tomato, basil, and mozzarella.  My husband loves the same but adds jalapeño.  You could also add chicken, turkey pepperoni, or meats of your choice for some protein.


4. Prep the Oven

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.  

5. Get it Together

Make up your flatbreads on a baking sheet.  Sprinkle the naan with some garlic powder.  Spread desired amount of sauce on the naan.  Top with desired toppings, the last being the cheese.

6. Bake It

Pop in the oven and bake 15 to 20 minutes.  

7. Eat it!
